Medica Locoregional Chemo-Hyperthermia System Intraperitoneal EXIPER

Chemohyperthermia consists in a “washing” of the abdominal cavity , executed through the insertion of several drains into the abdominal surface. Some are for infusing liquid inside the abdominal cavity and other for removing it.
The drains are linked to an external circuit mounted on a pump similar to those for extra-corporeal circulation . The pump is fitted with a fluid heat exchanger so to bring the circulating liquid ( usually saline or dialysis liquid) at 41-42 °C. When the desired temperature is reached , a chemotherapeutic agent is injected in the line so to enter the circulation. The treatment lasts one or two hours. The heat damages the cancer cells on its own and also plays in synergy with the chemotherapic agents improving the penetration of it inside the cancer layers and potentiating the drug efficacy.

SIMPLE TO MANAGE
A retro-illuminated 5.7” graphic colour screen, displays the treatment data, the operating parameters whereas the instructions and messages enable the various procedures to be set and carried out one after the other.

REAL TEMPERATURE OF THE PERFUSATE IN CAVITY
The extensible arm enables the heat exchanger to be placed close to the patient minimising the heat dissipation  so that the perfusate temperature is precisely controlled.

CLINICAL REPORT
All the treatment data and parameter are stored by the internal software and can be downloaded, using the USB port for record purposes.

DISPOSABLE-PATIENT KITS
The disposable lines required to carry out the procedures (Stop Flow, HIPEC, ILP and Ascites) are pre-assembled for a rapid and intuitive connection to the Exiper equipment.

TEMPERATURE PROBES
Exiper manages up to 10 temperature probes of which four are pre-positioned (two to control the input and output temperatures of the remote heat exchanger and two to control the input and output temperatures of the perfusion to the patient) and six available for reading the temperatures in other body areas
